How to get here

We are located in the heart of Norway's beautiful countryside and getting here is already part of the adventure.

Travel by car

Driving from Oslo, the journey to Rognstad takes 3.5 to 4 hours. Take the E6 highway northbound towards Lillehammer. Continue on the E6 past Lillehammer and take the exit on the left towards Sjoa on the Fv257. Follow the signs to Heidal. Once in Heidal, drive past the Kiwi supermarket and continue the road up for about 6 kilometres. At the sign 2387-2395 indicating the house numbers, take a right turn and follow the dirt road up to Rognstad.

Travel by train or bus

From Oslo Central Station there is a direct train to Otta, the nearest train station to Heidal. The train ride takes approximately 3.5 hours. You will find train tickets at vy.no. In Otta, you can either rent a car at the station, take a taxi, or arrange for a local bus to take you directly to Rognstad. We might be able to pick you up from Otta, but please call us at least a day in advance to check availability and discuss the details.

There is also a bus service running from Oslo Airport to Sjoa and from Sjoa to Heidal. Use the travel planner at entur.no to plan your trip using public transportation.

Travel by plane

If you are traveling internationally or from another part of Norway, flying into Oslo Gardermoen Airport (OSL) is the most convenient option. Upon arrival at Oslo Airport, you can either rent a car at the airport or take the train to Otta. For more information check the information mentioned above.

Other international airports in the south of Norway are Bergen, Ålesund, and Trondheim.
